THE
PASSIONATA
PROJECT
A CHRONICLE ABOUT THE ART OF FILM COMPOSITION
About The Project
WHERE DID IT ALL BEGIN?
the PASSIONATA project started in 2001 when the late, great Maestro Elmer Bernstein encouraged me to follow my passion for film music and to get involved with the art form in a way that struck a chord with me. Many years later I finally found the area that supported my love for the music itself... capturing composers through my own art form photography. I owe a great deal to Elmer and through the generosity of his time and conversation I have been able to launch the project to the music community.
WHERE IS IT ALL GOING?
Over the past few years I have been travelling as a freelance photo-journalist attending a number of film music concerts, festivals, recording sessions and composer studios in order to create a B&W book for release amongst the film music community. The more fans, composers and industry professionals that I have spent time with the more the project has grown and it is entering an exciting time as interest and opportunities increase. What started as a series of photographic chronicles and books for fans has developed into so much more... auctions, exhibitions, CD releases and a festival.
CORE PRINCIPLES
Behind everything I do and offer at the PASSIONATA project you will find one key principle - CHARITY. I am fortunate to do what I do and make the most of every opportunity that is made available to me and I would like to be as inclusive to others as possible. the PASSIONATA project is a non-profit organisation and monies raised from fees, auctions and sales go directly to a variety of charitable causes.
HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED?
Whether you are a fan, composer, orchestrator, copyist, editor or involved and interested in some other way there is something for everyone here at the PASSIONATA project. I am looking to build a client base that bridges the gaps between the many aspects of the industry and want to promote the 'art of film composition' to the widest possible audience. Please drop me a line if you are interested in joining the PASSIONATA project.
